Maple Leaf Farms Awards

Eligible Applicants
Juniors or seniors in the Colleges of Agriculture, Consumer and Family Sciences, and Schools of Veterinary Medicine or Management with a career goal of food production, food processing, food preparation, or production medicine.


Selection Criteria

  1. Graduation index (minimum of 3.00/4.00)
  2. Grades in the students' major area of study, and demonstrated academic interest in the food industry.
  3. Also, work or cooperative education experience in the food industry,
  4. Extracurricular activities, and demonstrated interest in pursuing a career in the food industry.
  5. Preference is given to the children of Maple Leaf Farms employees with at least five years of service.

Amount
$4,000.00


# Of Awards
At least one in each of the participating schools or colleges. If a student is selected to receive the award in his/her junior year, then he/she will receive the award in his/her senior year provided that the student maintains at least a 3.00/4.00 graduation index and continues to study for a career in the industry.
